Training and Development
Training and development
refers to educational activities
within a company created to enhance the knowledge and skills of employees while
providing information and instruction on how to better perform specific tasks.
Traditional and modern
approach of training and development
Traditional Approach,
Most of
the organisations before never used to believe in training. They were holding
the traditional view that managers are born and not made. There were also some
views that training is a very costly affair and not worth. Organisations used
to believe more in executive pinching. But now the scenario seems to be
changing.
Modern approach,
Training
and development is that Organisations have realised the importance of corporate
training. Training is now considered as more of retention tool than a cost. The
training system has been changed to create a smarter workforce and yield the
best results. (Robert Fritz.)
Importance of Training and Development
It is one of the most
important functions of Human
Resource management in any of the organisation. The objective of
this training is to enhance employees’ skills behaviour and expertise by
putting them into learning new techniques of doing work.
Employee Training and

which at the end results in increasing their work efficiency and increase the
productivity of an organisation. This will reduce employee’s dissatisfaction
& less-knowledgeably.
Employee training and
development process are vital to the success of every business anywhere. Not
only do these programs offer future opportunities for staff to develop their
skills, also employers to enhance productivity and improve company culture.
