HR role of Interview process
The interview process is a multi-stage process for hiring new
employees.
HR department has a major role on interview process.
Basically the interview process includes the following
steps:
1)
Writing a job
description,
2)
Posting a job,
3)
Scheduling interviews,
4)
Conducting preliminary
interviews,
5)
Conducting secondary
interviews,
6)
Following up with
candidates and making a hire
The job interview was born in 1921, when Thomas Edison created a written
test to evaluate job candidates' knowledge. Since then, the
process has come a long way. "As the work world continues to grow and
change with the latest technologies and innovations, so must the job interview,
(Heather, 2015)
Types of interweaves
a.
Behavioural Interviews
This method used to
assess how you have faced work related situations in your earlier jobs which
will assist to evaluate future carrier.
b. Case Interviews
This interviews type use to assess how you work or
manage in a specific situation.
c.
Stress
interview
Assessing how you going to respond a situation under
extreme pressure
d.
Competency
Based Interviews
Similar to structured interviews
Used by hiring managers to assess
your soft skills and interpersonal
competencies
e.
Group interviews
In this method multiple candidate
will be evaluated & can select more than one candidate.
f.
Panel interviews
The candidate will be interview by multiple interviewers. Main reason is to reduce mistakes & select the most suitable person the business
g. Video & remote interviews
When the candidate & interviewer are in a separate places this method will be used. Now a day it is a very famous system.
Advantages of a proper interview

It provides
flexibility to the interviewers
· The interview
has a better response rate than mailed questions, and the people who cannot
read and write can also answer the questions.

The
interviewer can judge the non-verbal behaviour of the respondent.
·
The
interviewer can decide the place for an interview in a private and silent
place, unlike the ones conducted through emails which can have a completely
different environment.
· The
interviewer can control over the order of the question, as in the
questionnaire, and can judge the spontaneity of the respondent as well

Conclusion,
As
my opinion a good interview organised by the HR will hire the most suitable
candidates for the business & the selection will course to the success of
the business.
